More Than One Right Answer
A deceptively simple observation, and extraordinarily powerful.
Rather than looking for, and arguing about, *the* right answer, why not spend time looking for the *next* right answer. Find one, but don't stop there. How many right answers can you find? Five? Ten? A hundred?
Most organizations strive to find and maintain a single standard. But how much more powerful is a system that can harmonize numerous competing standards? Haven't we learned that one size does not fit all; there are no silver bullets; and that learning and creativity beget diversity?
Monoliths are much more fragile than ecosystems.
I was first introduced to this notion through a training video put together by photographer Dewitt Jones. One of my all-time favorites.
