My Copyright -- Your Permission to Copy

"Unless otherwise noted, please use however helpful"

Here's the deal... ...basically, if you make a copy, leave a copy for everyone else...

I'm giving you permission to use the work that I've created and placed here just about anyway you want. You can copy it or republish it with or without attribution. I don't care. If you think its a bright idea, and want to pretend it's yours, go ahead. Maybe you had the same idea independently. I don't know. I don't care. If there's something here that would make your life easier, go ahead, be my guest: copy it, use it. But...

"Thou shalt not steal"

For these purposes, "stealing" is taking something in a way that makes it impossible for the original owner to use it any way that *he or she* sees fit. In other words, if you take something from this site and try to copyright it, or similar, in a way that will keep me from using it, or will stop me from letting other people use it under this copyright agreement, then you'll be hearing from my lawyer. No, make that Lawyers. I've got lots of friends... :-)

Your making a "copy" does not automatically steal from me, as long as I can still use *my* copy, and as long as I can still let *other* people still copy my copy. Get it?

So again, basically, if you want to make a copy, great! You have my blessing! Copy away! But please make sure that you leave a copy for everyone else.

Clear enough? If not, please email me at info@joelgetz.com.

Thanks.

Oh, the exception, of course, is where there is material on this site that is *already* copyrighted by someone else or is already under different terms than I'm setting here. I try to make that clear when this is the case, but I'd appreciate it if you'd be a little careful about that. Again, please feel free to ask if you're not sure.
