Aligning All Aspects
of an Organization

Trying to cross a chasm in two steps is often a bit, well, uncomfortable...

I don't want to be seen as arguing against trying to bring any aspect of an organization into more alignment with the principles.  Every step in this direction is valuable as long as it can be maintained. The difficulty and importance of no step is to be minimized.

However, the truth is that until all of the major aspects of an organization are consistent with the principles, there is the potential, no, the likelihood, of falling back into old patterns.  These major aspects include:
  • Ownership
  • Governance
  • Management
  • Operations
  • Value flows
  • Legal agreements
  • Product development

What the most critical aspects are depends on what an organization is trying to do. It is safest to try to ensure that each and every part of an organization is consistent with its principles.
